Brit Gunther, LIMHP (She/They)

I am a compassionate advocate for mental health, the LGBTQIA+ community, and trauma survivors. Through my experience in community and private agencies over the last eleven years, I have developed a broad knowledge of mood disorders, grief and loss, gender, sexual orientation, trauma, crisis intervention, and addiction.

I prefer to tailor my interventions to each individual that I collaborate with and have found that strengths-based approaches paired with cognitive behavioral methods are the most effective. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality), and AMSR (Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk).

About Brit

Undergraduate Degree: Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska - 2011

Graduate Degree: Masters of Science in Community Counseling, University of Nebraska at Omaha - 2014

Biggest Passion: I strive to find the resilience and bravery in every person that I meet. I love helping people discover who they are and where their strengths lie. The best part is that the strengths have been there all along and they just needed a boost to help rediscover them. It's amazing what people can achieve when they know their strengths!

Outside of Therapy: I am an avid traveler. I have lived in Germany twice and have travelled to Ireland, England, France, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. I am fluent in conversational German and identify strongly with my family's German heritage. Stateside, I love the Pacific Northwest's weather, culture, and scenery, making Seattle one of my favorite places to vacation. I'm a huge nerd and love to read and learn new things. I have a good sense of humor and have been known for my sarcasm and excessive use of movie quotes :)
